Athena

Athena recovered physically and emotionally and now enjoys a cage-free home with a large garden.

Athena after rehabilitation

Before

Athena was found on the road in horrific condition. With open, bleeding sores on her body, Athena was anaemic and barely able to stand.

Whilst her physical health was poor, it was her mind we were especially worried about. Dobermans are often known as “velcro dogs” because of how deeply attached they are to their people. Abuse and abandonment had broken Athena’s heart, and gaining her trust took months. From simply sitting in the same space to trying every kind of treat, we kept going until she began approaching us willingly.

After

Athena was sterilised, vaccinated and rehomed. She now has a large garden and lives a cage-free life with two other rescue dogs and plenty of people to follow around every day.
