Baxter
A once-terrified young dog who healed physically and emotionally and is waiting for a loving home.
Before
Amongst the many messages we receive every day was Baxter’s picture: a broken white dog of an indeterminable breed and age, tied to a post with sores all over his body. His back was bent and bowed.
There are several theories about what happened to Baxter’s legs and back. Many say that as a pup Baxter was bitten by a larger dog and then passed from home to home after his injury. Though we were never able to corroborate any of this, we are so glad Baxter ended up with us.
After
Scared and broken, we realised Baxter was only a pup and terrified of what people could do to him. It took over a week for him to stop staring at the floor and even longer before we saw the tip of his tail wag for the first time.
His skin healed gradually under treatment, he put on weight and his legs became stronger. He was neutered and vaccinated and is waiting for a home that can offer him the love and care he deserves.
