Christopher Robin
An abandoned Labrador who recovered over many months and now enjoys a loving, cage-free home.
Before
An emaciated Chocolate Labrador with soulful eyes, Christopher Robin was found abandoned and stumbling on the road. Once rescued and transported to one of our partnered hospitals in the city, Chris began his long recovery journey.
Chris had weak joints and badly bowed back legs from what looked like a lifetime of living in a cage with no exercise. He had skin lesions from a rash, ulcers in his eyes and megaoesophagus, which is no longer a rare condition in dogs bred in Sri Lanka. We worked with Chris every day—from ensuring he was fed properly and cleaning his eyes to taking him for walks and swims to strengthen his joints.
After
It took close to half a year to get Chris to a state where we could neuter and vaccinate him. We then found a home willing to give him the love and special care he needed. Today Chris is part of a large pack of dogs. He is never caged and spends his days playing, sleeping and loving his family.
